10 Things A Daycare Teacher Wants You To Know

As a daycare teacher, there are some things that I wish parents and everyone else would like to know about being a daycare teacher. My job is not easy but, oh do I love it! So, here are 10 things that I, and my coworkers, would like everyone to know about our job!

1. We love it when you pick your child or children up early.

We are also people. We just want to go home and relax too! We love your children but, we need a break once in a while.

2. Our classrooms aren't always messy.

Even though it may look a little disheveled, don't worry! Our classrooms will be clean 98% of the day!

3. We like when your child brings PLENTY of extra clothes.

If you have baby or child who is closely related to a sprinkler or they are just starting to learn how to use the potty, we love it when you bring plenty of extra clothes. I know, kid's clothes aren't cheap but would it would make everyone's lives a little bit easier.

4. We love it when you donate old clothes and toys!

Sometimes kids don't have enough extra clothes so we have to go and find some extra ones. We don't always have enough for everyone or they don't fit so if you do have any extra clothes, or toys, that you want to get rid of, PLEASE DONATE!!

5. We know, we look horrendous about 90% of the time.

Is there really a point or reason to go full glam face and dress all fancy when we are going to chase little kids all day? Nahhh but I do it anyways.

6. Please DO NOT dress your kids in the nicest and most expensive clothes.

Kids want to run around and have fun. They don't want to have to worry about keeping their clothes in the best shape. Plus, if they are little enough, they eat messily and sometimes we might have lasagna or beef stew for lunch and they get a little messy.

7. We are organized! WE PROMISE!!

Again, our rooms may look like a hurricane came through from time to time but, we know where everything is and where stuff SHOULD be.

8. This is more than a job.

We aren't just babysitters. We are educators. We teach kids (along with the help of their parents) the most important things they will need to know during this crucial point of their lives.

9. YOUR kids are OUR kids.

We love your children with all of our hearts. You and your kids have a special place in our hearts and always will.

10. THANK YOU

We may not say it out loud but, thank you. You trust us everyday to take care of the most precious thing(s) in your life. We couldn't be more honored to have such great parents!

I hope everyone who reads this realizes how difficult but, worthwhile being a daycare teacher is. It isn't easy but, not only are you educating very young children but, you are also making long lasting relationships!

Thank y'all for reading! Make sure to give me a like down below! Stay tuned for a new post every Friday!! Stay "Neusey"!! Macayla Katlyn Vandiford
